Pet owners are increasingly thinking not only about the comfort of their pets, but also about the environmental friendliness of the products they buy. However, on the packages you can see different designations – “eco”, “bio” and “organic”. What is the difference and how to choose really safe and useful products?
What do these terms mean?
- Eco – goods produced with minimal harm to the environment. This could be toys made from recycled materials or biodegradable toilet fillers.
- Bio – products created without the use of chemicals, synthetic additives and GMOs. This applies to both feed and grooming products.
- Organic is the strictest category. These products must meet international standards of organic production, which is confirmed by special certificates.
What to pay attention to when buying?
- Composition. In feed, it is better to avoid artificial flavors, dyes and preservatives. In care products – aggressive chemicals.
- Certification. Reliable manufacturers confirm the quality of their products with international certificates (e.g. USDA Organic, EU Organic).
- Packaging. Environmentally responsible brands use recyclable or biodegradable materials.
- Reviews and brand reputation. It’s worth researching the opinions of other pet owners and verifying manufacturer information.
In 2024, the demand for environmentally friendly and safe products for pets is only growing. A conscious choice helps not only to take care of your pet’s health, but also to protect the environment.
