34 Places To List Your Local Pet Services For Free

When you discover an opportunity to list your pet services for free - always take it!

When you discover an opportunity to list your pet services for free – always take it!

Adding your website URL to your listing on high-authority website can boost your SEO ranking. And, of course, users searching the site for local pet services can find you through your listing.

Here’s a list of directories that allow you to create a free listing for your local business. I recommend using all of them. Just have a small logo image file and a short blurb about your pet business ready so you can quickly create all of these profiles – it shouldn’t take more than an afternoon to dramatically increase your business’ online footprint.

Check Out Your Local Business Scene

You should also make sure you’re included on any directories specific to your area. Just Google for “business in (my town)” and “business directory (my town). It may also be worthwhile to visit your local Chamber of Commerce, and any small business associations in your area. You may have to pay for membership, but it can be a great way to network and get new business referrals.

Connect With Your Industry

Also, be sure to check out directories specific to your industry.

If you’re a pet sitter, for example. consider becoming a member of Pet Sitters International to be added to their Pet Sitter Locator – I’ve heard good things about members getting new clients this way.

Avoid Rover and other sites that handle business transactions – they often take a sizeable commission, and have rules against you creating your own contracts and deals with clients. Make sure any directory you use only helps clients find you – but does not control how you run your business.

Make It Count

You’re going to toil over this for a few hours. Your wrists are going to ache if you try to create all of these listings in one day.

Take your time creating each listing, making sure each is accurate and professional. Capitalize each first letter of your business, and check for wordiness, spelling and grammar errors.

Some directories give you a large text area to promote your business, while others only give you a few sentences.

Take advantage of all the space you get. This is where you convince users that you’re the best choice in the area. It’s your only shot to get them hooked, before they check out your local competitors.

If you need help crafting concise, stand-out copy for your profiles, don’t hesitate to contact me – I’m always happy to help!

Please comment if you know any others, or have any issues with these sites. Much appreciated!
