List Your Local Pet Biz On The Brand New PetProducts.com

PetProducts.com logoI was thrilled to chat last week with CEO Allen Simon and VP Kevin Yamano about the launch of PetProducts.com, a global directory of local pet businesses. Pet lovers can search the directory for products sold in local pet stores, as well as groomers, veterinarians and other pet-related services for dogs, cats, fish, birds and horses.

PetProducts.com just launched on July 12th, but it already has listings for over 7,000 retail stores, 9,000 service locations, 300 brands and over 10,000 products throughout the world.

The fast-growing success of PetProducts.com is no surprise considering Simon’s decades of accomplishment in the pet industry. In 1970, he founded Four Paws Pet Products. He invented the Wee-Wee Pad and Magic Coat dog shampoo products. After 42 years, he sold Four Paw Pet Products to Central Garden and Pet  for over $55 Million.

Ending The Hunt For Quality Pet Products & Services

Of course, my first question was, “Why did you start PetProducts.com?”

Like so many businesses, PetProducts.com was started to solve an existing problem.

“Everyone would come to me asking, ‘Where can I find this? Where can I find that?’ said Allen.

He found the pet industry community was “fragmented,” with different “levels of sophistication,” when it came to marketing to consumers online.

Additionally, manufacturers and retailers in the pet industry do not have a way to find one another, connect and communicate. PetProducts.com aims to solve this issue by providing a dashboard for all pet business owners to engage and form connections.

Recently added, you can now create job listings to find pet-loving employees, announce events, and even put your business up for sale.

What’s Next For PetProducts.com

I couldn’t help but notice my pet sitting and dog walking friends were not represented in the list of available pet services. Professional pet sitting has come a long way in the past decade, with many sitters now bonded and insured, and certified in animal first aid.

“We were just talking about that! Yes, we’ll be adding those services soon,” said Yamano.

So, if you’re a dog walker or pet sitter, it shouldn’t be long before you’ll be able to register your business and list your services on PetProducts.com. You’ll be able to add your website and phone number so new clients can find you in the directory.

PetProducts is growing very quickly, and will soon become a resource for pet owners to find discounts, coupons, product reviews, and even find pets to buy or adopt.
